On Location - Videos

Over the last two years, I've carried a broadcast-quality HD camera whenever possible. I now have over 40 hours of video. I intended to place a number of clips here and sourced music for it. However - since I hope enough people will pay for my books to count this site as a commercial venture - I do not feel comfortable using music that might be viewed as violating another artist's property rights. At $429 per clip, I could sleep in a bed for four weeks. I will place the occasional compilation on my blog when it is obviously just a record of a writer's journey and not an advert designed to boost sales. If I can ever afford it, I'll revisit the question. Alternatively, I would be happy to work with a documentary team to create a film for commercial release.

For the record, the music in question is awesome - mostly from a band called Falling You - and I fully agree that the site (magnatune.com) promoting them should charge a commercial rate. It's just unfortunate that the unusual nature of this project means that I would pay the same for a few minutes of music to post here as a company like Microsoft would do to support one of their ad campaigns.

I posted the following clip on my blog which I think falls within the terms and spirit of the non-commercial licence. I link to it here to promote Falling You and to show you what I mean. If you like their music, please buy it.:
